Here, I’ll introduce four excellent food remedies for both diabetes and hypertensive patients.

I) Astragalus Kudzu Enzyme Vinegar


Enzyme is a good booster for health. Astragalus Kudzu Enzyme Vinegar is another enzyme which is good for diabetes and hypertensive patients.

Ingredients:

  • Kudzu root (200g)
  • Astragalus (30g)
  • Maitake (50g)
  • Organic brown rice vinegar (520ml)
  • Lime flower honey (250g or ¼ bottle)
  • Brown sugar (15 tablespoons)

Methods:

  1. First, prepare a bottle of vinegar and dilute it with some boiled water. Then, rinse maitake with the water mixture (water and vinegar) before tearing it into pieces.
  2. Next, rinse, and remove the skin of kudzu root before slicing it into thin slices. Astragalus does not need to be rinsed.
  3. Divide the ingredients into 3 portions. Stack the ingredients in sequence: astragalus, maitake, kudzu root, brown sugar and lime flower honey into one clean glass jar. Repeat the same for the remaining 2 portions.
  4. As soon as the stack-in ingredients are completely done, pour the organic brown rice vinegar into the glass jar.
  5. Before covering with a lid, remember to seal the mouth of the glass jar with food wrapping paper and make sure that it is sealed tightly. Keep the glass jar in a cool place for about 2 weeks before serving. It is better to keep for 2 to 3 months for a better health result.
  6. Before serving, remember to mix 30ml of Astragalus Kudzu Enzyme Vinegar with 10 times of water in order to dilute its concentration.

Health benefits:

Astragalus polysaccharide has shown to improve glycemic control by increasing insulin sensivity in the skeletal muscle of type 2 diabetic rats.

Kudzu root compounds have shown to significantly reduce blood sugar levels and promote healthy insulin level. This is also a remedy used to enhance the immune system.

II) Pummelo Mulberry Drink


Ingredients:

  • Pummelo (150g)
  • Fresh Mulberry (150g) (Alternatively, you can replace it with 50 ml organic Mulbery juice. But, I recommend you to use fresh Mulbery for a better health result.)
  • Brown sugar (1 tablespoon) (For a diabetes patient, you’re recommended to replace it with sugar-free sugar cube or just omit sugar for this drink instead.)

  1. Put all fruits together with 200ml water (alkaline water is recommended) in a blender and blend.
  2. Mix with brown sugar before serving.

Health benefits:

Pummelo has long been widely used by people worldwide particularly for those who wish to reduce their belly fats or those who want to lose weight. It assists regulate insulin level that subsequently helps fight diabetes. With Mulberry, a strong antioxidant, which is known to be an excelent fruit to strengthen the antioxidative defense system. It is a diabetic as well as a hypertensive prevention drink. Besides that, it helps fight a number of cancers.

III) Pumpkin Porridge


Ingredients:

  • Pumpkin (150g)
  • Job’s Tears (20g)
  • Astragalus (5g)
  • Chinese Wolfberry (15g)
  • Brown sugar (1 tablespoon) (For a diabetes patient, you’re recommended to replace it with sugar-free sugar cube or just omit sugar for this drink instead.)

Methods:

  1. Remove pumpkin skin and cut into small pieces. Rinse Job’s Tears. Put all ingredients together with 800ml water (alkaline water is recommended) into a pot. Let it brings to boil till thoroughly cooked.
  2. Mix with the brown sugar before serving.

Health benefits:

Many scientific reports have shown that pumpkin is an excellent food that helps reduce blood glucose level by improving insulin sensitivity, regulating the blood pressure while increasing plasma insulin levels. Thus, pumpkin is a good food for both diabetes and hypertensive patients. Coixans in Job Tear’s is peptide-containing polysaccharides that have sugar-lowering properties. This porridge is particularly a good remedy for hyperglycemia as it is anti-inflammatory besides stimulating immune system.

IV) Dragon Bitter Gourd Enzyme


Ingredients:

  • Bitter gourd (150g)
  • Dragon fruit (1000g)
  • Lime Flower Honey (250g or ¼ bottle)
  • Corn stigma (30g)
  • Brown sugar (15 tablespoons)

Methods:

  1. Rinse, dry and slice bitter gourd. Remove the skin and slice dragon fruit. Corn stigma need not be rinsed.
  2. Divide the ingredients into 3 portions. Stack the ingredients in sequence: corn stigma, bitter gourd, dragon fruit, brown sugar and lime flower honey into one clean glass jar. Repeat the same for the remaining 2 portions.
  3. As soon as the stack-in ingredients are completely done, seal the mouth of the glass jar with food wrapping paper and make sure that it is sealed tightly.
  4. Cover with a lid. Keep the glass jar in a cool place for about 2 weeks before serving.
  5. Before serving, remember to mix 30ml of Dragon Bitter Gourd Enzyme with 10 times of water in order to dilute its concentration.

Health benefits:

Dragon fruit is widely used in diabetes and hypertensive diet. It helps to control blood glucose level in people with non-insulin-dependent hyperglycaemic conditions. As for a bitter gourd, it possesses insulin-like peptide which is hypoglycemic in action. This enzyme is good to promote detoxification while cleancing toxins from our body.
